First time here. Be gentle. I'm not sure I have a favorite piece of clothing. When I was working, I had a favorite suit, but I've lost so much weight it no longer fits and I've donated it to Goodwill. Maybe, from the perspective of style, my favorite would be my black leather motorcycle jacket. It's just like the one Brando wore in The Wild One, and has advantage of fitting the new, slimmer, me. It also has the advantage of fitting my aspirational self-image. Alas, evidence doesn't support that dubious image, nor does my rare frequency of actually wearing this jacket support it being my favorite article of clothing. Over the long haul, the article of clothing I have worn most often--and still wear--is a baggy old jacket with soft, brown leather. I bought it on sale at the PX on Lakenheath AFB in the UK thirty years ago. This was at the height of the UK's bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease) scare, and leather was cheap since so many cows had been slaughtered. It's still warm and comfy, with lots of pockets for keys, my phone, my wallet, and other sundries. It's bulky and over-sized, like that suit, but i don't care since it wearing comforts my soul; it's an echo of the era when I wore a younger man's clothes. Based on duration, frequency of use, and, especially, the memories it invokes, it's my current farvorite article of clothing.
