I’m actually a huge bird nerd, at least for Florida’s birds. So, I have to break it down… Favorite bird call: Northern Bobwhite https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S4219Wc9DSE Favorite mating rituals: Sandhill Crane https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a_O40AC9EpM&pp=ygUbc2FuZGhpbGwgY3JhbmUgbWF0aW5nIGR... Favorite colors: Roseate Spoonbill https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Roseate_Spoonbill/id Favorite sighting at the bird feeder: Eastern Towhee https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Eastern_Towhee/id If I had to choose an ultimate favorite, I think I’d have to choose the Florida Scrub Jay. They often have bands on their legs because they are studied and it helps to see where their population is at. We have protected areas so as to not destroy their habitats, though it seems like more and more of those protected areas are being torn down lately. They are super friendly. If you have peanuts, they’ll land right on your hand and come take them from you. They will land on your head and just chill there while you walk around, as long as you have peanuts. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Florida_Scrub-Jay/id |
