Kisi Sey Na Kehna, a Hindi Movie. Theme: Arranged Marriage Basically, in the movie a prospective bride pretends to be illiterate though she is actually a qualified medical doctor - because the prospective groom's father doesn't want a literate daughter-in-law who will go against tradition and ruin the family. They manage to fool the Dad into agreeing and they get married. After she has proved that she'll uphold traditional values, she has to reveal her identity when the father-in-law gets a cardiac condition and she has to give an urgent injection to save his life. By then she's pregnant with the old man's grandchild. Needless to say the movie ends with the Dad-in-law accepting his son's wife and even joking around about the whole misunderstanding. The Sequel I'd write would be about what happens when the kid arrives. The Grandpa probably spoils her / him rotten and the parents have to keep intervening to make sure the kid doesn't get a swelled head and then there is some climactic incident that opens Grandpa's eyes to the correct upbringing of kids.   |
