I've had quite a few. I think what is worst for me is having to deal with all the other people. The more crowded it is, the harder my anxiety hits. To add to it, many mothers allow their children to run around the store on their own, getting into everything and getting into the way of other shoppers, like me. The more hullabaloo, the more anxious I become. I recently left the store shaking and in tears because I couldn't hold it together long enough to get to the car. There was a trio of young ladies pointing my way and laughing as I hastily struggled to pay, grab my bags of groceries, and head for the door. Some people are so rude!
( I have a difficult time reaching the top shelves too. But typically, I don't let that stop me. I've been known to step on the lowest shelf in order to get a boost up - and I've "borrowed" the store's ladders on more than one occasion.)
