I bought the last packet of frozen chicken wings (they were on an amazing special - $2.50 for a 800g bag) and a woman followed me down 2 aisles yelling that I'd stolen her food. Then she started to cry (for chicken wings, remember), and other shoppers came to her aid. One of the store managers came up to me (fortunately, as a regular, I knew him), and asked if I'd let her have them. One woman yelled if I'd stolen them, then I should just give them to her. And I was abused by a bunch of women. Then a second store manager came and said he'd watched footage, I hadn't stolen it, I'd just taken the last pack and the woman came behind me more than 30 seconds later. The other shoppers said if I hadn't stolen it, why was she crying. I exploded and said it's because she's a selfish old bag who thinks the world revolves around her. She started crying even more, the other shoppers go madder, the store managers said they'd call security and have all of us removed. I said she could have the bag for $5. She cried that wasn't the special. I said, "Okay, six dollars." One of the other shoppers gave me a five dollar bill, I looked at the manager, he shrugged, I threw the bag on the floor and walked out, leaving my trolley right there. Two days later, I was back (I don't have a lot of storage in the pub) and the manager apologised and let me have a bag - they got new stock in (of course) - for free. The woman apparently did the same thing on the same day to another man (she only singled out male shoppers) to get something else. Crying and acting like a spoilt brat. That weekend, she came into the pub. I'd told the staff and regulars what had happened and when she came in, I pointed and said, "That's her! That's the crier!" The regulars started making bawling sounds. She went to the bar and a regular screamed that was his spot and threw himself on the ground like a 5 year old (this man is retired). The woman didn't even look at me and left. Love my pub. |
