"The Simpsons". I suppose it comes from being raised to respect my elders, law and order, etc. - character traits my time in the service only reinforced - but I object to the way Homer is portrayed. There are plenty of other TV dads who, while possibly being somewhat out of touch, still get treated like a father rather than a joke.

And yes - I know it's just a cartoon.

A favorite handle overlaying a US Army shoulder patch I proudly wore for many years.
