I'm a day late. What do you know about DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion)?
While I was in college, the president of the college then had a theme of diversity. I attended from age 55 to 60. I was included in every way. I was Mom to students. My freshman classmates were 17 or 18. A cool way to connect with the younger generation. Diversity is age, or many countries sending students to the same school, or making a place in classes for the disabled. I attended school with people in wheel-chairs. I read for disabled students who needed the curriculum put on tape. I discovered that some schools do not male room for disabled students. Equity? Making everyone equal? Not an easy job. Because of the United States government many people were being educated that would not have gone to college otherwise. Yes. They ended up paying for that education. Even then if they gave back they could equalize in the payment end of the situation. Inclusion? Mathmatics? Diversity plus Equity equals inclusion.
