If you're ever out Denver way, you can choose your proximity. There are multiple locations still in town but elevated enough or far enough from "civilization" to get a good view of the Front Range; you can make a day of it and take US Highway 285 from Denver to Fairplay over Kenosha Pass via South Park - yes, that South Park - looping all the way back around to return north via Colorado Springs [you won't crest the Continental Divide, but the Pass will get you to 10,000']; or you can join a "few" other motorists on Interstate Highway 70 and have lunch lakeside in Dillon on the west side of the Divide.
