Kangaroo Island.

You can either stay in one of the towns and be part of a small community, or you can hire an old farmhouse, lighthouse, sealer's cottage, whatever, and be away from it all, with kangaroos and goannas right at your doorstep, and birds galore. Very little pollution, very few people and, with Vivonne Bay, the best beach in the world (Stokes Bay was voted best beach in Australia in 2023 - and, hence, the world - but I prefer Vivonne Bay with the Little Sahara sand dunes).
