Re: Kevin, Cancer, and the Purple Potato
Enthusiasm! May I call you Ent?

This piece made me feel SO many things! The symbiotic relationship between the vines and the main character spoke to a sense of loss and pain, some from the past, some from the present. There is also an undercurrent of what could be... It just dipped onto a vibe of psychological horror, without diving into it fully, which left me feeling that "what happens next" feeling. I would describe it as watching a favorite television show for a few seasons, and then it ends, with just enough closure to accept, but leaving a bit of wonder at it's final conclusion.

I am really impressed by the thoughtfulness that you managed to churn out so quickly. My favorite line? "Purple was just blue grieving red." Holy smokes! I got teary eyed as I read that sentence to my fiancé, and we both agree that this line packed a punch.

Thank you so much for this piece. It was a lovely surprise to wake up to this morning.
