The Great Toaster Rescue 255wc

Five-year-old Max wasn’t just brave—he was fearless. When he wore his plastic dinosaur helmet, he became Captain Safety, Defender of the Kitchen.

One sunny Saturday morning, Max marched into the kitchen wearing his superhero cape (an old towel) and declared, “There’s a smell of danger!”

It was toast.
Slightly burnt.

But Max’s mom hadn’t noticed yet. She was folding laundry, unaware that doom was only moments away.

Max leapt into action. “Never fear! I will save breakfast!”

He climbed onto the counter using the “step-ladder of justice” (a stool with one leg slightly wobbly—extra thrilling).

As he reached for the toaster, his elbow hit a glass of juice. It tumbled to the floor with a dramatic crash.

“Glass down! Glass down!” Max shouted into his invisible walkie-talkie.

He stood still for three seconds—safety protocol. Then carefully stepped over the juice lava like a true hero.

With a mighty tug, he yanked the metal toaster cord from the wall. Victory!

But the toast popped up with a terrifying BOING.

“AHH! It’s alive!” Max shrieked, stumbling back and landing on his behind. “That toast tried to attack me!”

His mom came running. “Max! What happened?!”

Max pointed dramatically. “I saved the house from an electrical fire! Also, I defeated the Demon Toast.”

She stared at the shattered juice glass, the unplugged toaster, the heroic towel-cape now covered in peanut butter.

“Well… thank you for your service, Captain Safety.”

Max saluted.

“All in a day’s work.”

He paused.

“Can I have waffles instead?”
