Help on font

I have a question about the font size and type. Even though every time I do a poem I change the size, the type and center it, it doesn't stay.So what am I doing wrong? Are the options suppose to go at the beginning of the post, the middle or the end? I just want to start getting it right so I can post my stuff so it is readable. Any help on learning and doing the font right and any way to make it easier would help also. Thank you to everyone who reads and anyone who replies! Have a great weekend!
