I was referring to the difference between results an AI will give when translating a piece of text and what Google Translate typically gave a decade ago. It was very hard to be sure that GT had captured the intended meaning because it gave you a simple result. ChatGPT, by contrast, explains why it translated the passage the way that it did. It might be wrong -- but hell, a human might be wrong -- but as a mere matter of psychology, ChatGPT's translations instill a lot more confidence in the user than GT ever did. (At least for me.)
