![]() ![]() ![]() Personally, I think you all are overthinking this like you're uncultured AI's trying to provide a solution that will create a problem for it. Will's character dictates why he doesn't get something for the time capsule. He really doesn't want to because it's stupid and he's lazy and forgetful of stuff he doesn't care about. Bringing up AI is a non-player, and I doubt anyone who starts reading BoM today will ever think the story is deficient by not including it for him to try to use. Then there's the whole "magic" aspect of the story and the book. If it really is "magic," then the book has an aura that could screw up online searches for more than a few words at a time even cause ink pens to stop writing and pencil lead to break. And isn't the book supposedly written in some weird version of Latin not the standard dead type that is commonly used today? If AI is so smart, then why not use it to tell you what will happen from the ingredient list. No more guessing or waiting until things get mixed and the next page turns. Let's suspend a little disbelief here. Throw in AI where it counts by Will getting caught using it to actually do his homework. Good discussion from all, by the way. It doesn't sound like anyone used AI to write their comments. ![]() |
