I've always been a fan of having a garden. I used to work with my dad in our garden when I was little. I kept up the practice with my in-laws once I got married. One of the things I struggled with growing was watermelon. I could grow cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers without a problem, but watermelon was always a challenge. It was sad, as watermelon is my favorite summertime fruit, second only to strawberries. Watermelon is a summertime requirement, whether sitting at the kitchen table, or as a dessert on a picnic. Sweet and pink and juicy! Yum!
