I have let it pick its own path -- in fact, that's what it did in the story branch at the top of this thread -- and a couple of times it has picked a path that doesn't exist. Some of them I have given thought to continuing, just because it picked them, but I owe it to some people around here to do some other work first.

FWIW, I did a lot more testing of the MFA mode, both on BoM and on some non-BoM stories I've got around. It does still tend to be soft-handed, but it did piss all over some of the things I showed it; even came close to yelling at me about how awful they were.

OTOH, I fed it the branch of BoM that ends with "And That's the End!" , including "Hijacked in Your Own Truck" . I got the impression that ChatGPT wanted to ditch Book of Masks and just hang out with Frank and Joe. (The latter it described as "almost disturbingly charismatic.") Make of that what you will.
