As someone who tries to chronicle family history through genealogy, there is one thing for certain: there is always something or someone a little bit unsavory in every generation - murderers, philanderers, cowards and kings. Sometimes I regret learning things that are not necessary for me to know and are none of my business, such as when a marriage date and a baby's birth date were not sufficiently far apart for society's liking in the time that they lived. I think that even after death, people deserve to keep some little secrets that are nobody else's concern. I wish I didn't know. It makes me feel like I snooped.
