People who tell me to smile. While I do suffer from depression, even when I'm not sad, the corners of my mouth turn down naturally. So whether it's a complete stranger or a photographer tells "You need to smile more!" I resent it.
I have the school pictures to prove it. In the tenth grade the photographer was all "Smile bigger!" I tried to force my mouth by flexing my cheeks and baring my teeth. A couple of days later the yearbook came out. My friend with no filter said "I saw your picture! It looked like you were crying!"
The other one that really jerks my chain is when people tell me I look like I'm half asleep or always have my eyes shut. I have folds of skin that come down over the corners of my eyes. They're natural, I promise I'm not drifting off.
So nobody beat me with the sad/sleepy stick, it's just the way my face is! I don't got a problem with it. The rest of the world can go fly a kite or whatever.
