Yes. A good teacher who can be objective could be helpful so long as they aren't pushing their own biases onto the children .
The whole purpose of critical thinking exercise books, (which I used when I home-schooled my son,) is about students doing daily lessons based on reading the scenario given, then answering how they got to that conclusion. Younger grades of course can have simplified scenarios as an exercise in thinking. They don't need complicated scenarios, they just need to be introduced to thinking on their own by what they've read. No right or wrong answers. Those can be discussed in class. Different answers could spark more thinking by the individuals.
