I was 14. I was living in a house my mom had just bought us a new home. Even though it had been built in 1948, it was a big step up from the aluminum roofed single wide our family had shared.
We had barely met the neighbor next door. My dad would go on to start a paranoid bulletless (potentially one sided) feud with this neighbor. During that year, I was beginning my final year of being home schooled.
We had dial up internet on a Gateway Computer. Which no one was allowed to use unless we were all together. No cell phones. A Play Station and an N64 we had to share. We were probably the only family to not have a DVD player yet.
Also our house was right near the tracks for The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Although not as close as our apartment had been to the Rail Yard we lived adjacent to when we first moved to New Mexico. The whole trailer used to shake any time a train would be shuffled around.
Wow I thought I forgot all that. Sorry for waffling.
