I have 5 pairs of winter hiker shoes. They are all the same style. They are in 4 different colours. Grey, brown, beige, black. The black is leather. I wear them with dress pants for things like weddings and funerals. They're the only ones I take in and out of the closet. The other ones, I pick a colour, then wear them until they're dead. While wearing those ones into the ground, I go buy a replacement pair, because capitalism dictates these will get cheaper over time, until they are garbage at the point of sale. I need a buffer zone to find new ones, so I have my own private stock to fall back on. Despite being "winter," I wear them all year. They're waterproof, with a great thermal break. I used to wear Chuck's until my arthritis told my feet that life was over. Now I wear these, and I dngaf what anyone thinks about it. My feet love these things. I also have from the same brand: house shoes (or as I call them, "advanced slippers"), and a pair of sandals for summer. Toss in a pair of massive winter moon boots, because those are really winter hikers lol So, 8 pairs, I think. But at one given time, I only "have" 2-3 pair I wear. |
