in Japanese there are two classes of adjectives. "I-adjectives"(pronounced ee-adjectives) and "na-adjectives"(pronounced like naw-adjectives). While na-adjectives follow the consonant vowel patterns. Words like Mazuii are i-adjectives and so do not follow the same pattern.
