There are so many under-reported news stories to choose from!

As a general topic, I think local governance is dramatically under-reported in favor of sensationalizing the national political conversation. I've lost count of the number of stories about some procedural vote in Congress, or who said what to whom during a press conference or appearance on a cable program... but I can't remember the last time we had decent coverage of local issues like the plan to bulldoze several commercial/retail shopping areas down the street in order to build a 350,000-square foot industrial warehouse/distribution center... or what my state assemblyperson and state senator have been doing since they were elected.
