The first thing you need to decide is whether or not you’re going to post your story directly. Simply put, this means you'll create a post on this forum that is your story. Many members with Free or Basic memberships choose this option because it saves room in their portfolios.

If you choice the direct-post option, be sure to note the story's rating in the subject line. Remember, if you chose to post your entry directly, it must be PG or less. You can post an entry directly like so...

If your story wins a prize, you'll be given the option of creating the story in your portfolio (to receive your awardicon) or you can receive the equivalent amount of gift points for that award.

Your second option is to create a story in your portfolio and enter a post as a bitem. What does that mean? A bitem is simply a link to your story that contains details about the Rating, the Title, and Description. Let’s take it step by step.

First, you create an item. Here, I'll use the Haunted Halloween Forum as my example. Once your story has been created, find it in your portfolio.

You need to find your Item ID. I circled and highlighted it above. In this case my story's Item ID is 711597. Now, I'll create a post in the forum.

Using { bitem : 711597 } (without the spaces as shown in the picture above), I've posted my entry in the forum.

When someone reviews my post, they’ll see this...

By posting as a bitem, it shows your story’s Title, the Rating (which can now be up to rated R), and the Description.

Whichever way you choose to post is up to you. If you have any other questions, feel free to write to Crickado Author IconMail Icon or leave a post with your question.
