Lend a ear

The lovely throat of Hitomi seems 40 feet high, but you climb and climb until you make it to her ear. You climb inside her ear canal. The ear is clean and there's no earwax to speak of.
"Hello" you say, wondering if Hitomi could hear you now.
Outside, Hitomi looks around suddenly. She thought she heard someone say "hello", but she doesn't see anybody around her.
