This choice: you become a thick brone clog (kind of shoe) • Go Back... Before you see any more of Sara’s back…WUSH…everything changes again. But you didn’t loose consciousness, you saw it all happen like the world faded out and something new coming in its place at the same time. You feel different but not too different from the toothbrush. It is dark but you can tell you are on some sort of rack or shelf you feel slightly tilted forward. There is noise somewhere that you can’t see. It sounds like a woman or girl humming. Then light spills in as a wall, or what you though was a wall slides open and you are looking at someone’s shin. Who ever this is she is wearing denim jeans. Your eyes…or whatever that see…are moving up to see who it is. A nice chest, this girl isn’t half bad.
You get to her face and its Ally, oh shoot. She looks down at you and you want to say something but by now you got the picture that you can’t talk. Ally is looking down and her eyes move from side to side and she settles on you. Oh shit, you think, what am I now? Ally reaches down and you she her lift a large brown clog, a thick shoo with no back. She puts it on her left foot. Your mind takes this in as she reaches in and with a wush of motion plop, you’re on the ground and UMPH, your older sister’s right foot jams itself up your rear. Thank goodness it doesn’t hurt you think but that is short lives as Ally rest all her weight on her right foot to start walking.
You feel your back and legs pressed in like they are going to break and then you lift off and hear a slap then clap as your back side rises to meet her heal and then the clap when you are put back on the ground. Then there is bending as her heal raises but the ball of her foot is still on the ground. OH, the pain is just numbing. It just continues as Ally is walking through the house and into the kitchen. The Clap sound changes to more of a clunk and the floor beneath you feels different than the carpet, oh now what about the outside you think as your sister’s weight slowly crushes the nonexistent breath out of you.
“Hi, Mom,” Ally says to her mother who is sitting at the kitchen table. “Any word on James?”
Megan is resting her head on her elbow and looks up at her daughter, “No, no word. He’s nineteen and it was only the weekend but I’m worried.”
“Don’t worry too much; he might have just taken off with some friends for the long weekend. He’ll be back in school by Wednesday I’m sure.”
“Yah, you’re probably right.” Megan says and looks down at the tile floor, “Nice shoes, new?”
“Hu, oh yah, just got them and figured I’d break them in. I’m just going to go to the mall with some of the girls and see what there is to see, maybe catch a movie, you know.”
