Jenny decided to use her newfound powers to have a little fun with Tommy.
“Tommy, you’d like to expand your horizons, wouldn’t you?”, she asked.
“Sure!”, he replied, eagerly.
“Great!”, said Jenny. “I have an idea of something for you to try, and I know that you’ll like it and learn a lot from it.”
“OK”, said Tommy. “What do you think I should do?”
“I think that you should try being a girl, just for a little while. That’s a good idea and sounds like fun, right?”
“It sure does!”, said Tommy. “What shall I do?”
“Say ‘I’m a pretty girl like my sister’”, said Jenny.
“I’m a pretty girl like my sister”, said Tommy.
Jenny watched as Tommy changed.
“Wow!”, said Jenny. “You are a pretty girl! Check yourself out in the mirror!”
Tommy went and looked at himself in the full-length mirror behind his bedroom door. He was a pretty girl! His face looked quite similar, although softer and more feminine. His hair reached halfway down his back. He thought that he must be a few inches shorter, since his clothes seemed looser. He poked gently at his chest. He was pretty well-endowed for a twelve year-old. Of course, Jenny was downright top-heavy, so maybe that sort of thing ran in their family. He looked a bit like a younger version of Jenny, but also a bit like Aunt Lucy, his father’s younger sister.
“Dang!”, said Tommy “I sure am cute!”
“Say, I just thought of something else that I know you’ll want to try”, said Jenny.
“Sure, what is it?”, asked Tommy.
“I think that just turning into a girl isn’t enough”, said Jenny. “I think that you’ll learn a lot more about what it’s like to be a girl if you spend some living as a girl, don’t you agree?”
“I sure do!”, said Tommy. “What shall I do?”
“Say ‘I feel that it’s like I’ve always been a girl’”, said Jenny.
“I feel that it’s like I’ve always been a girl”, said Tommy.
Everything shimmered around Tommy, and when it stopped, she was no longer Thomas “Tommy” Wilson, and was now Thomasina “Tommi” Wilson., and had completely forgotten that she’d ever been a boy.
Tommi was wearing a pink girl’s blouse, girl’s jeans and sneakers. Her hair was held back in a ponytail that was secured by a pink scrunchie. Her room had changed from Tommy’s, as well, as it was now furnished and decorated as a young girl’s would be.
To Tommi. It looked the same as it always had. Jenny also didn’t notice any difference. This was because she had made a miscalculation. When she’d had Tommy re-write his life so that he’d always been a girl, it had re-written her life as well. (And everyone else's that knew Tommy, as well.) As far as she was now concerned, she’d always had a little sister. Now she remembered Tommi meeting the genie instead of Tommy, and she just wanted time to think about these new powers of hers.
“Say, wouldn’t you like to go for a walk or something?”, asked Jenny.
“Yeah, I think that I would like to go out for a little bit”, said Tommi.
“Fine”, said Jenny. “Just remember to be back by five. Mom and Dad are bringing pizza, and you wouldn’t want to miss that, would you?”
“I sure wouldn’t!”, said Tommi.
