Laura Capet's family were once exceedingly wealthy Frenchmen who owned automobile factories in Marseilles, but once the Capet's thought it wouldn't be profitable to operate their business in Vichy France, they moved to the States. While living in America durring the Second World War they set up factories that produced bombs and ammunition. In 1947, the Capet's converted those factories to produce refrigerators, washing machines, and other 1st world utilities. At the dawn lf the 21st century, the Capet's found that junk food became the best revenue generator, due to them being cheap and addictive. After all the Capet factories were set to produce these, they became an overnight national financial powerhouse for the first time since the twenties.
At 26, Laura was the youngest daughter of Louie Capet, current owner of the family business. While Laura's parents and siblings had some responsibility in the family's enterprise, she was able to weasel her way into a position where she has no responsibility whatsoever. Laura owned a massive mansion just outside of the Murphy's town.
Other than her family's history and her role in the family business, no one in town knew why she chose to live in their town out of all the settlements in the world. Rumors say that her father effectively banished her out of the family headquarters in New Jersey, so she decided to live under the radar. More outlandish rumors say that she is trying to contact evil alien fascists to cover Belfast with purple genitalia. That last one probably wasn't true.
