The theme will be recovering from the past and moving on to the future, there will be no love interest in this story, instead, it will focus on her meeting a 17-year-old black girl named Ryley. 40 years after the passing of Helen's family, the 350-foot-tall woman has been asleep since conquering Houston and Texas, with the invulnerability and immortality she has developed, the government has claimed her to be the queen of the United States.
We start this chapter with Helen sleeping in the destroyed city of Houston, the remaining civilians have been walking on their destroyed home while feeling the breeze of Helen sleeping due to them being in front of them, She then senses their presence causing her to open her eyes and looks at the people who were once her size but now insects. "Be gone you pest, don't disrupt my slumber," she tells them. Deep down she knows that they are innocent, this proves their is still some humanity in her. After they left Helen gets up and yawns at the sunny and cloudy day, she begins making steps that shook the earth, stumbling upon a healthy lake and took a sip from it, She reflects on her life 40 years ago to how one event impacts everything.
