David watched as the young woman (judging by her voice, he figured that she was Sarah, the person he heard earlier when he was in Pete's gym bag) removed herself from the shrubs, then disappeared from view. He was so relieved to finally have someone help him. Because he was sure that he wouldn't get any from either Ryan or Pete.
