Stick your Thumb out, hitch a ride

Before she walked away from the desk, you caught a glimpse of the tan open-toe high heels Mrs. Symington was wearing. Near the toe section of the shoe is a strap with a buckle. Nice design, you think to yourself. In fact, your thoughts continue, if I can grab onto that strap, I can climb up her capris pants and reach her ear.

One problem: Mrs. Symington is standing at the back of the classroom. She won’t return to her desk anytime soon...until you hear from above:

“MRS. SYMINGTON, MAY I BORROW A PENCIL?” It’s a student named Melissa asking the simple, soft (loud to you) question.

By sheer luck, and loud *clack* *clack* sounds, Mrs. Symington is approaching the desk.

In a funny manner, you stick your thumb out.
