"This ring," the dragon stated, "belonged to my wife before she was slain by knights about 900 years ago. She told me as she was dying that she will be reborn as a human without any memories of her past life. This human is you. You are my wife reborn. If the ring gives you the memories of my wife back, then what I said is true. If that does not happen, then I will have to try something else with you."
