"All right you guys! Look for whatever treasures remain that can help us!" The toned, black haired Dread Fighter with dark skin ordered a group of Zofian soldiers before him. The low ranked members of the Deliverance were picking through the riches and resources hoarded by Desaix in his Fortress after they bested him and his Rigelian allies that guarded the fortress. They defeated both armies and freed Clives love Matilda who had been kept hostage for an execution during the battle. Thankfully Faye had used Rescue to bring her to safety, allowing Alm, Gray, and the rest to wipe out their forces.
"Man though I'm not cut out for this kind of job. Don't we have anyone else whose good with numbers and keeping track of supplies? Oh what am I saying of course we don't. Maybe if Alm recruited that mage from the village we went by, but he refused to stop until we saved Matilda." Gray grumbled as he helped write down and keep track of the money and, weapons, and food stored within by Desaix as men brought it from the storage and treasury rooms. Desaix was a man who overindulged in all he could. Gray sighed as he sat down. Bet Tobin is trying to flirt with Clair. Poor guy doesn't know he doesn't have a chance.
As the young man indulged his thoughts, one Zofian soldier brought forth two containers to Gray. "Sir!"
Startling Gray, he replied in surprise "Ah! What is it?"
"The two containers with the unknown magic spells shielding the lids will not open." The helmet wearing soldier placed both containers before him. One contained a symbol of the Earth Mother Mila the patron deity of their country Zofia while the other bore the symbol of the War Father Duma, patron god of their southern neighbors and current foe Rigel.
"Why not have our Priesttesses, Clerics, and Mages analyze it?" Gray asked. Magic is their forte afterall.
"We did sir. We sent it over to them to see if it will open. Er..you do remember ordering me to do that right?"
Gray was surprised. Crap. Was I so bored out of my mind I didn't pay attention to what was going on around me? Gray kept himself from showing it. Dont want people to think he's slacking. "R-right. Why'd you bring it back to me?"
"The magic users stated only those of great strength can break them open. We brought them before Lord Alm and Sir Clive. Both said these were to be gifts to you in honor of all your hard work slaying Terrors."
"Oh? Well uh Ill let them know personally how thankful I am for these gifts." The soldier saluted before returning to his duties. Looking down at both the Dread Fighter began contemplating. They didn't have to give me these. Though I am thankful for such gifts, I just never expect to be rewarded for slaying so many Terrors in the former shrines of Mother Mila Gray had slain so many of them in those dungeons, sometimes solely consisting of himself and Alm, becoming more powerful then the other members of the Deliverance. He became powerful enough to become a Dread Fighter after Mila's Servant blessed him. He even managed to beat the imposter Desaix at Zofia Castle who wielded a Dracoshield! I suppose it's no surprise they we will reward me for such merits.
Gripping the lids of both, he used his max strength to pull them off, the mystical seals binding them vanished once they approve of his level of strength. "Easier than I thought." Pulling out the contents of both, it was two radiant gems that brimmed with unknown power. Each bestowed with power of the Sibling Gods. Though Gray had no idea of that at the moment. "I wonder what they do. Maybe I should try..." He pressed the two together, rubbing them softly for a response. The friction of the divide gods power coming together sought an outlet for their feud, even as mindless stones. A vessel worthy of them was holding them, and so light flowed from them and into Gray. The former villager none the wiser as the power was unseeable to human eyes. His clothes slowly getting tight while his pants rode up his thickening legs...
