Janet tries to shrink her brother Alex

Janet decides to try it on her brother Alex. Janet thinks to herself, "Alex bosses me around & gets away with stuff to much. I've always wanted to take Alex down several notches in height. Now I've got just the thing to do it. If I can take him down a foot or two, I'll be the big sister & can boss him around." Suddenly Alex walks in. Janet aims at him & pulls the trigger. Alex dodges what he thought would be a spay of water instead a beam came from the gun & hit his trophy case reducing it to half its size. Alex couldn't believe his trophy case shrunk & realized Janet tried to shrink him. Alex knew he had to get the shrink ray away from Janet or else she would shrink him to half his height or shorter. Being a wrestler & weightlifter, Alex knew he could most likely wrestle gun from her & shrink her instead. So just as Janet tried to aim at him & shrink him again, Alex dove for her knocking her to the ground. Janet kept a firm grip on the gun as they wrestled for control. Alex being taller, bigger & stronger than her almost beat her when the gun went off striking one of them. Who did it strike & was it set to grow or shrink?
