How about this, to have it make a little sense.

One day Chomper is going on and on about how great meat is, and how much better it is to be a carnivore. Cera is there, and she doesn't see what's so appealing about it, so Chomper tells her she'd understand if she just tried it.
This gets her curious, so she takes him up on his offer and eats something living, and she finds that, to her surprise, she loves it! And she gets hooked, eating more and more other dinos, unable to stop herself, even if it means swallowing up all her friends.
