She walks into the house and places you down on a couch as big as most cities and lays out in front of you with her head tilted sideways. "Why are you being so quiet, you haven't seen me in a month" Clarisse says, "wow they came up with the technology in a month that's pretty impressive" you think. She leans forward and gently pushes you over with the tip of a finger and you just push her back. She looks down at you in confusion and you sit up "hey Clarisse, can we talk?" you say.
"What's wrong darling, you've been acting me, you didn't even call my big ms fluffy buns" Clarisse says. You laugh inwardly at the nickname and say "well Clarisse that's kind of the problem, i'm not exactly you're boyfriend."
"Oh did they have to hide him again, and you're what a look-alike, a robot?" she asks.
"No, um....I don't know how to say this becuase I just learned it myself but, the boy you fell in love with was killed a month ago by a sniper and I am him, i'm just from a parallel universe." you say. She just looks at you and says "ok so you're a look-alike, geez they go to extremes sometimes." You rustle around in you're pocket and to you're suprise you find a picture with a note attatched. You open the note and it says "I know you're the one they brought to replace him, I don't want to see Clarisse hurt but if you feel you have to tell her then this picture will be enough to convince her." The picture was of the other you, dead with a bullet hole in his head, you could see a timer that dated the pic as a month ago in the bottom. "Poor guy, had this wonderful woman and he lost his life because some people were afraid of her" you think. You hear a quite voice come out of you're shirt collar "what are you doing, you can't tell her, that will screw us all."
"Screw you, this girl needs closure and i'm gonna give it to her, besides you didn't care about me and I bet you didn't care about him or her right now either" you say. You tap Clarisse and she looks over, "I need to show you something" you say. You climb up onto her palm and she brings her face forward, you hold the picture in front of you and after a second you see the realization hits her. she starts to tear up and you cover you're ears. She starts crying, the tears falling on you every so often, she cries for a good 5 minutes and you really weren't sure what you could do to stop it. You turn the picture over and notice there's a message scrawled on the back "To my daughter, do not worry the person standing in front of you is the exact same boy you fell in love with. I've watched him for a month now and he will take good care of you, never forget the boy you fell in love with but you can fall in love again." "Wow so her mother was the one who chose me to come, well I might as well do my best" you think. Clarisse stops crying after another 5 minutes and you hold the back of the picture up for her to read, she stops sniffling and just stands there.
"So who are you?" she asks staring down at you somewhat angrily.
"Alexander at you're service" you say bowing. She pushes you over "so other then telling me the love of my life is dead why are you here?" she asks.
"Look, as I said i'm you're boyfriend from a parallel universe, you're not an 8 mile tall anthromoprhic rabbit there but otherwise no difference. I was brought here to act as a replacement for you're boyfriend so that you'd never know that he died, that plan did not work out as well as they hoped" you say. The tv on the wall turns on and a face appears "so you told her, do you have any idea what you've done?"
"Screw you, you had the balls to hide the fact that her love was dead for a month and then you try to deceive her again. I can see where you're coming from, but she can't be that irrational I know this girl, admittedly not as a bunny and she wouldn't hurt a fly heck she wouldn't even swat a spider that was crawling up her arm" you yell at the tv. All you hear is the man on the tv say "take the shot," you hear a bullet but you don't feel it as you had closed you're eyes. You open you're eyes and you find yourself surrounded by white, you look up and see Clarisse staring at the tv. "If the person who took that shot is within this house in the hour and I find him, I will become the first omnivorous bunny" Clarisse yells, you actualy hear the guy scream and him start scrambling to get out. She turns to the tv and says "Mr.president you have no worry, I will not hurt anyone but I will also not help you stop anymore wars, all those people's deaths are on you're head" she says before switching off the tv. You look up at her and ask "why?"
"Why what?" she replies
"Why didn't you let them kill me, I mean I must be the last person in the universe you'd want to save right now, I just told you you're lovers dead and i'm just a stand-in" you say.
"You're not so bad" she says leaning forward she kisses you pushing you gently against her palm.
"What are you doing?" you ask.
"Sorry" she says
"Look you have to be going through a lot right now, you'll need a bit of time to get used to me, and I to you, plus you'll probably need something like a week or month to fully accept he's dead an...." you're cut off as she kisses you again.
"You really are the man I fell in love with" she says smiling, "you might not be exact but I can tell from that comment that even with just meeting you that you care for me."
"Well you are my girlfriend" you say.
"All I saw outside is carrots, is that the only thing to eat here?" you ask.
"Yeah but I can cook up a storm, you'll love my carrot cake" she says happily.
"Really, the you in my universe sucks at cooking" you say. "Also you're probably a tiny bit in shock" you say having studied a few psychology books becuase you were bored and you found the subject interesting. "3,2,1" you say and she hugs you against her chest whispering "never leave me, never leave me." You just sit there and wait till she's finished, she places you down on the couch and spins around, "so was the other me this good looking?"
"Yeah but she didn't have a cute little tail coming out her backside" you reply,
"Oh so you like my tail?" she asks.
"Yeah it's cute, even though it's bigger then I am" you reply.
"Hmm well you're a guy so you probably like just my body" she says.
"Oh yeah, you probably still tell just as bad jokes as before" you reply.
"What do you call a flying turtle?" she asks.
"I don't know" you reply.
"A shellicopter" she says, you giggled a bit and said "see now that's the really bad humour I remember you having."
"Why aren't you trying to get back?" she asks you.
"Well they told me the machine's one way and well, the night before I came here was the night I lost her, I took her home and find a message on my machine that not a minute after I left her appartment was on fire, I waited for an hour and the news came on saying the fire was out but that there was only 1 confirmed death and..." you trail off as you're eyes start to water, "Clarisse don't let the pain get to you" you say.
"What are you talking about?" she asks.
"When I heard she was gone the first thing I tried to do was take my own life, but I couldn't do it. Probably why I was brought here to keep me from ending it. You're mother probably heard me say that I was going to make sure I finished it in the morning, even hid a gun near my bed and left a note" you say. You're eyes fill with tears and you just stare down and let them fall one by one, as you remember the pain and what you had tried to do. You look up and she's right in front of you, she gently blows on you knocking you over. You just lay there feeling kind of dejected and pissed that you had hurt the girl in front of you. She gently pokes you once, twice, she keeps poking you till you look up at her. She's smiling down at you and asks "Alex do you want to be my boyfriend?"
You just look up at her stunned, you wait a second before replying, "I would love to" you say.
"Well then give you're new girlfriend a kiss" she says leaning over. You get up and you have to stand on you're toes to reach her, right when you're about to kiss her she moves back causing you to lose you're balance and fall forward. "Sorry" she says giggling, "it was just too good an opprotunity" she says scooping you up. She holds you next to her cheek and you kiss her, you spend the next few seconds getting fur out of you're mouth. "Don't worry, you'll learn to do it without getting any fur" she says smiling.
