Lauren goes back to her house

"Thanks, but my my family makes a big deal about everyone being home for dinner." said Lauren.

"OK" replied Katie, "I'll give you a call later." she said as Lauren got back in her car.

As Lauren drove home, she couldn't get the images of Jester out of her mind. She had so much fun playing with him.

"I just wish mom would let me have a dog." Lauren said to herself.

As Lauren turned into their driveway, she was surprised to see her mom's car. Lauren didn't expect her mom home this early. She usually worked later than this. Lauren parked the car and headed into the house.

"Mom, are you home?" Lauren asked.
