Paradise City, a place whose name was at one point very ironic because of all of the conflict and elitism from the students and teachers of many different duel schools, who thought that they were better as people, since they had better cards and better skills due to being able to afford better education. With the help of a young boy named Yuya Sakaki, along with his friends and comrads, who were dubbed the Lancers, everything changed for the better... until one fateful day...
No one was quite sure what the source was, but one day the citizens suddenly found some of their peers walking oddly, moaning, and with their eyes rolled up as far as they could go. Some tried to go to the people who were behaving strangly to see what was wrong, and to help them out, only to have the people attack them, seeming to try to eat them, several people got bitten, and were brought to the hospital to check for infections. Things quickly went horribly wrong, as within hours of being bitten, said people joined the ranks of their infectors, and began biting others. The Lancers quickly responded, and began quarantining the infected, but struggled to find a solution, fortunately, the infected seemed to lose all higher brain function, and thus could easily be outsmarted.
Eventually they settled on one they did not wish, but had no choice. They used their technology, and contacted the other dimensions, negotiating, and agreeing to transfer the people from one of the dimensions (which ended up being the XYZ Dimension, due to already being under repair due to the dimension war recently concluded) to the others, and dropped the infected off in the XYZ dimension, the cutting the connection, so that they couldn't get back, although it could be re-opened so that if any more infected were found, they could be sent through.
The Lancers continued patroling for weeks, unable to find any more infected, until one day, Yuya's girlfriend, and fellow Lancer, Zuzu Boyle, suddenly went missing. Days later, Leo Akaba contacted the other dimensions from the Fusion Dimension, and revealed that the infection was going on in the Fusion Dimension, and that Zuzu was seen amongst them! Even worse, she somehow retained her intelligence, theorized by having three other souls sharing her body, while still having the mindset of the infected. This allowed her to co-ordinate the infected, to devistating effect.
Things quickly went from bad to worse, as Zuzu's dimensional bracelets allowed the infected to jump with her from dimension to dimension, until the Syncro and Fusion Dimensions were completely overrun, and then the full scale zombie invasion came to the Pendulum Dimension, and all heck broke loose. The people of the Pendulum Dimension started getting bitten left and right, making humanity quickly get outnumbered and overwhelmed, in a few short weeks humanity was down to the double digits, with the only Lancers being left being Yuya, Declan Akaba, and Sora Perse.
Yuya tracked down Zuzu and tried to use her retained intelligence to reason with her, and get her to stop. Unfortunately, it didn't work, although she challenged him to a duel. Yuya tried using his dueltaining to try to appeal to the Zuzu he knew, while Sora used the solid vision of his duel disk summon his monsters to keep the infected off of their backs, while Declan watched over the survivors, including his little sister Riley, while monitoring the situation from their base. To their horror, one of the infected got through Sora's defense and bit Yuya.
With Zuzu pleased that Yuya would soon be joining her side, everyone was soon shocked to discover Riley started glowing with a familiar dark energy that they thought was long gone, and went into Yuya, causing him to take on the form of Z-ARC, although unlike previously, it wasn't a monstrous version of Yuya, but instead, Z-ARC's original human form. To everyone's surprise, while Z-ARC took over again, this time he was on humanity's side, and soundly defeated Zuzu, as she didn't have Ray's Natural Energy Cards.
After Subduing Zuzu, and gathering Sora and Declan together with him, Z-ARC revealed his dark powers protected him from the infection, much like with the parasite during the Dimensional War. However the trace remains of both merged with his power and created a new virus in the form of some nanobots that could counter the first, although they weren't sure about any side effects, although he could absorb inanimate objects and re-summon them, break down and absorb metal to replenish nanobots, and have an increase in strength, speed, and intelligence. While understandably distrustful of Z-ARC, Declan realized that spreading the new virus could not possibly make things any worse. They tested it on Declan, Sora, Zuzu, and some other volunteers, and discovered that the nanobots seemed to have no effect on males, but turned females, including Zuzu (whose mind assimilated her counterparts inside of her), who mostly went back to normal, into essentially organic robot love-slaves to Z-ARC, while giving them Z-ARC's nanobot abilities on a lesser scale, and replenish supplies by having sex with Z-ARC while he has his sperm changed to not make them pregnant.
Having their only chances being extinction of humanitiy, or females becoming loyal love-slave robots to Z-ARC, and thus have a chance of human survival, the latter was chosen. Upon female zombie infected being infected with the nanobots, they all transformed like the other girls, but it was immediately discovered that it didn't restore the brain damage done by the mind rotting caused by the virus. Thus they were forced to find other methods...

The door to the base closed as a frustrated Z-ARC walked, followed by a happy Zuzu.
"So, Declan, how's it coming along?" Z-ARC asked the prodigy currently working on a metal sphere.
"Almost done, although I wish we had another choice." Declan replied.
"Don't we all?" Z-ARC responded with a sigh.
"So, why are you so upse-" Sora began, only to be cut off.
"I don't mind, Master!" Zuzu said with a beaming smile, tilting her head for a cuteness factor. "I'll be glad to be by your side, especially since your going to make Yuya the one in charge!" Z-ARC gave Sora a look that practically shouted 'Now do you see?'
"Seeing any version of Ray like this is hard, especially since Yuri was my only fragment without romantic feelings for his version of Ray." Z-ARC said. 'Granted Yuya also had feelings for Celina to a slightly lesser degree than with Zuzu.'
"It's done." Declan called out, opening it up and putting it in the path of a laser that he made for the space-time travel for the plan. "Now just put the cards you want to send back inside, close it, and then transfer the nanobots turn Yuya into a master unit, along with the all the memories you can fit, and we'll use your and Zuzu's powers to send it back."
Z-ARC nodded, as he put the cards he'd gathered for Yuya inside, along with Zuzu putting in the cards from her and her counterparts' decks that they didn't have in the point in time the sphere would go back inside as well, and then closing it as Z-ARC and Zuzu put their hands on it (Zuzu's being the one with the bracelets), and closed their eyes, focusing on the transfer of the nanobots and the memories that Z-ARC wanted to send back and that Zuzu wanted Yuya to give her and her counterparts. When they filled it as far as they could, he nodded to Declan, then had Zuzu put her hand with her bracelets on it on the sphere as well.
"Here goes everything." Declan said, starting up the laser, and firing, sending the sphere back in time, to the first point in time where Yuya was alone in between being challenged by The Sledgehammer and dueling him.
Notes:
1. Stargazer and Timegazer Magician will turn into their Pendulum versions upon Yuya touching the sphere, while the original Odd-Eyes Dragon will remain the same.
2. Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri will be transported by Z-ARC, who has been mostly purified by his future self, to Yuya, and then be absorbed by him, giving him their cards, although not giving him doubles of their Dimension Dragons, while giving him their memories, and Yuto and Yugo's feelings for their Bracelet Girls.
3. When Yuya infects someone, he can give them copies of some of his cards (will not give Syncro, Fusion, and XYZ other than the instances I mention), and gives the base forms of the Dimension Dragon to the Bracelet Girls from their respective dimensions (Except for Zuzu, who get's Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Harmonizing Magician, Trump Witch, and other Pendulum Magician of the choice of whoever makes a chapter where he gives her some).
4. After one Bracelet Girl is infected, he can use the fact that Ray's mind has been infected to give orders to the others that they will follow, thinking that they are their ideas.
