Melissa covered her mouth, shocked at the bird noise she just made.
She scratched her back and felt something, she turned to the mirror and saw she had a few red feathers in her back.
"What are-are those feathers?"
"ah ow!" she said after pulling one out
Melissa stared at it in confusion, she had few more but they were too painful to pull out so she just put on a shirt. She checked her back in the mirror to see if the feathers were visible.
"Melissa get down here!" yelled her mom
"I'll deal with this later" thought Melissa before heading downstairs to the kitchen.
"Melissa one of your great-grandparents died, we are going to their funeral" said Cindy
Melissa could feel more feathers growing on her back.
"Oh, I'm sorry" said Melissa fidgeting with her shirt
Melissa and her family went to the family home to pay their respects.
"Your great-grandfather left us some money, they'll say how much after we pay our respects" said Cindy
Melissa felt guilty that someone died and she's getting money, she squirmed as she felt feathers sprouting.
"Oh I hope their not to many" thought Melissa as she headed to the bathroom
Melissa lifted her shirt and saw her stomach was covered in smooth feathers.
"Oh, how many are going to grow, will they cover my whole body" thought Melissa
She blushed as she felt feathers below her waist when she touched the front of her jeans.
