He doesn't put it on, just in case

Even though Matt is 90 percent sure that Lee was just jerking his chain about the necklace having powers he’s reluctant to test it. He puts it back in the box and resumes getting ready to see Kim.

The date goes well. They have a wonderful dinner at a really nice restaurant following by a walk in the park before going back to his place. “Dinner was wonderful”, Kim says to Matt. She then gives him a long kiss and says, “You deserve a reward for being so good to me”. Matt smiles and replies, “I’m not done yet. I have something else for you”. With that he hands her the box with the necklace. When she opens it she exclaims, “Oh Matt, its beautiful. What does this symbol mean”? Matt smiles feeling good about his choice and answers, “That is the symbol of the goddess of beauty and fertility. The guy at the jewelry store said it had great and mysterious powers and should only be worn by a woman. If a man wore it something bad would happen”. Matt laughs a little after answering her. Kim frowns and says, “You shouldn’t mock other people’s beliefs. It may be for real”. “Come on, Kim. Its just a necklace”, Matt scoffs.
