"Okay, Dara, that's enough", he said to the tiny girl as he picked her up in his hands. He then sat on his bed, placing the tiny princess next to him. He then held the black box up to his mouth and said,
"Dara, 5 feet, 6 inches!"
And in moments the small princess was now almost his height. Dara blushed, the idea of growing and shrinking still weird to her...and yet fun.
"Dara, can I ask you a question?" he asked her politely.
"Hmm? Sure, Lord Ryan", she replied, a smile on her face.
"What was your past like?"
Dara paused for a moment, suddenly looking sad. She took a small breathing exercise before explaining what happened to her and how she came to be here.
"I was the princess of a far-away kingdom. My family and I lived in peace until an evil man came one day and cursed me. He shrunk me down to 6 inches tall and warned my parents that if we didn't give him 40,000 piece of gold, I would not only be stuck like this, but turned into a doll slowly over a time period of a year."
"That's terrible, Dara! What happened!?"
"Um....I don't know! My parents paid him the money, but he didn't fix the curse! And the second they gave hm the money, my parents...they were killed! He froze them just like me!"
Dara started crying as she placed her head on Ryan's shoulder.
"Dara, if they were frozen like you, they might still be alive in this world."
"I thought so at first too, Lord Ryan, but I haven't seen them in 500 years of searching! I don't think I'll EVER find them!"
Ryan lifted up Dara's red, crying face and looked at her eyes. He then placed his forehead on hers and said to her,
"Dara, I will find your parents. I swear by it."
"You will!?" Dara asked, her tears slowly stopping.
"I will."
"Thank you, Lord Ryan!" Dara said in-between sniffs, hugging him.
"Maybe the other figurines would know some information too, Dara."
"Yeah! Let's ask them!"
