Chapter #72The Pick of the Litter by: rugal b. She could be manipulating you. She probably is trying to manipulate you. But at the end of the day you realize she truly can't, can she? Chelsea Cooper is wrapped around your finger, not the reverse, so if you're leaning towards the AP group it's because it's not because that's where she wants you. So you look at her and nod a bit, "Yeah, you're right Chelsea. There are a lot of good reasons to go with them. So I'm going to do just that."
Chelsea's face lights up and she throws her arms around you once more. "Oh, Will! You made the right choice!" she coos happily, "You'll see, that's a good crowd of people to have under control."
"Just make sure it's all actually under your control." states Frank as he glowers at both you and Chelsea.
"What's that supposed to imply?" asks Chelsea, more than a hint of disdain in her voice.
Frank, however, drills a hole right through her with his stare. "What do you think it implies?" he asks, "Because whatever you think that's probably what it is."
"Frank, come on." you say as you hold up a hand to try and stop them. "If you think Chelsea's trying to goad me into doing what she wants... well that's insane. She can't." You then look over at Chelsea and smile, "You're not going to try and manipulate me, are you?"
A very subtle shift seems to overtake Chelsea and she shakes her head. "No, of course not. I'd never try to." she says in an innocent voice.
"See?" you grin at Frank, "Nothing to worry about. I'm going along with what she said because she brought up good points; that is why I brought her here after all. Taking over that group of people has too many benefits and no real discernable downsides I can think of. There's the arrogance but that can be dealt with using either the essentia and anima or just a mask if we have to."
Frank eyes you and then shakes his head and grumbles.
"Oh, what was that Frank?" Straussler asks teasingly as he leans over and cups his ear, "You think that all sounds pretty spot on?"
"I said I hope he actually knows what he's doing." Frank replies in a measured but clearly irritated tone, "Because I don't want him dragging us down with him if he messes up."
"I'm not gonig to be dragging anyone down; you, me or otherwise." you reply in a forceful, confident manner. "We have to make sure we can do all this and we have to make sure we can run the show with no problems. If we can't take over a high school how can we take over the Stellae?" You suck your breath in; you're certainly putting on a braver front than usual, "We're going to have to take chances."
There's a long silence and then finally Frank nods his acceptance.
"Great, glad we're on the same page then!" you exclaim with a grin. You then turn to Chelsea, "I'm going to have to hitch a ride with you to school tomorrow, by the way."
It's now her turn to eye you. "You think I have time to come all the way out here to pick you up and bring you to school?" she asks rather huffily.
"Isn't there another 'you' running around there anyway?" asks Straussler.
"No, I mean I'm going to have to take her over tomorrow." you reply as you make a waving motion in front of your face, though without saying the words to make the transfer happen. "Try to scope out the group and see who'd be the best to get and see if I can get them out here."
Chelsea makes a face at that. "Can't you just, like, have me call you or we can talk about this or something?" she asks, "I don't want you riding around inside of me."
"It'll be easier this way, trust me." you state in a reassuring manner. "I know you don't really mind it so send me a text when you get to school."
Chelsea's expression softens, "No, I guess I don't." she sighs, "Alright, fine. Just don't do anything that'll make people think I'm not, you know, me."
"Wouldn't think of it." you reply. You then send her on her way home before her mother starts wondering where she is and turn back to Frank and the disguised Joe, flashing that smile at them once more. Figuring out the ousiarch trick has left you feeling much more confident. "See? It's all good. The three of us have this under control."
* * * * *
Once you receive Chelsea's text early in the morning you make the motions and say the words and in a flash you're in the parking lot of Westside High School sitting in Chelsea's car; she must've sent it before actually getting out. You note the way Chelsea's body feels, the large breasts and toned stomach and legs indicative of a girl that keeps herself in prime physical shape. You take a quick look in her rearview mirror at the blonde hair, blue eyes and winning smile.
"Chelsea Cooper, you really are a sight aren't you?" you say to yourself in an amused manner before stepping out of the car.
You bound over towards the gym where the cheerleading squad is in the locker room getting changed as Chelsea's ordered a before school practice pretty much to exercise a bit of power and show Cara Furhman, the new girl, exactly how things are going to be. In the locker room and during practice you engage in gossip with Kendra and Gloria, Chelsea's two lieutenants.
You work Yumi a little extra hard and heap a little extra criticism at her and while part of you feels bad about it, Yumi's always been nice to you, you have to stay in character and Chelsea's mind tells you that she's almost certainly next on the chopping block. Well, you might have to have a little talk with Chelsea about reconsidering that. Or she might be a good place for Frank or Joe; it would be a huge boon for Chelsea if Yumi went from enemy to ally.
There's more to do of course. Placating Gordon is at the top of the list. The human wall of anger gets wound up and it's up to Chelsea to unwind him when that happens. Thankfully you don't have to do more than some sweet talk, some caressing and a little bit of kissing to calm him for another few days.
You spend the rest of the day trying to observe the AP students, going through and weighing the pros and cons of each possibility. By close to the end of the day you've got your list and in a class that neither Chelsea nor you particularly care for you look it over both to find a name and as more potential homes for Frank and/or Joe if you think having an ally in the AP group would be good. Although, and perhaps it's Chelsea's thought processes influencing you, putting yourself, Frank and Joe in different social groups might be for the best to help strengthen your influence over the school.
Still you look over the list. Kelsey Blankenship is at the very top. If there's a more smug, more conceited person than Chelsea in Westside then Kelsey is it. Well off, smart, determined, confident, attractive though not quite to the degree of some of her peers. The teachers love her. She'll have go to a good school, have a good career. She seems practically untouchable.
Then there's Amanda Ferguson. What she lacks in Kelsey's academic and career excellence she makes up for in sex appeal. A large chest, windswept auburn hair, piercing gray eyes and a fashion sense that emphasizes her attractiveness and drives boys wild.
Deanna Showalter is next on the list. Short, peroxide blonde hair, a button nose, large cheeks and a light smattering of freckles. Far more approachable, far more outgoing and a veritable gossip hound.
The fourth name on the list is Kim Walsh. Kim is cute but she's respectable as the senior class president. She's got her fingers in lots of different pies and is a busybody who gets along with most everyone. But that niceness could be mistaken for weakness.
You immediately cross out three names: Marc Garner, Ricky Golia and Geoff Mansfield. Marc, the third of the Garner triplets that includes Eva and Jessica from the cheerleading squad, is too on the fringes, too quiet, not a mover and shaker.
Ricky... he's a jerk looking to usurp Kim's position but he's not a likable sort and he's wrapped around Amanda's nicely manicured finger.
As for Geoff... well, fuck Geoff.
But that takes you to the last name on your list. What Chelsea said yesterday runs through your mind. If you wanted to ruin Mansfield you could, easily. You might have to fuck Geoff a little but you'd really fuck him a lot too. And you'd finally have her, though not the way you ever planned. Should you do it? Should you become Lisa Yarborough? | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
