" UH- uh- uh, not so fast buster! " Jessica says snatching the remote away.
" Hey! " blurts! the startled Shaun
" That's mine! Give it back! " he then demands.
" Finder's keeper's! " gleefully exclaims Jessica turning to send a brainwash beam toward the young family coming through the front door.
With a quick double take Shaun turns to see a smiling little brown haired girl blast him with a memory beam as his stammered step is met with the clasping hand of her mother on his wrist.
" Come on, dear. Don't doddle in the doorway. " another brainwash beam striking Jessica flashes.
" You are holding people up! " her mother finishes.
From behind the counter a brightly smiling Jessica greets the group with
" Pools open guys! Great place to cool off on a hot day like this! "
" Can we mom? " excitedly the children starting in all at once with Shaun even shocking himself by what he was saying.
" Well maybe a quick swim before lunch we can, but I want to get some more shopping in before we head off to the children's festival at the park later on this afternoon." she gave in a little.
" Oh that's not a problem " Jessica started over the four little girls cheers
" You can get bracelets for them at the check in station and leave them there while you go about your day. They will be constantly watched by highly trained staff and specialists with anything they could possibly need available to them. Once they are signed in they can't leave the area and only a hotel employee can remove the bracelets. They won't even notice you are gone, promise! " she finished with a smile
' Oh...well that's a good idea, isn't it? They are pretty much shopped out now, HONEY!" she called out to the tall skinny dark haired man over laden with packages fumbling his way the door. Stooping to retrieve one he dropped his thick coke bottle lenses slide down his thin nose as he pushed the taped center back into place and grasped the escaped parcel. As his wife explained what they could soon be doing Jessica thought somebody clearly graduated a nerd, but said
" Hi Mr Gillan, did we have a busy morning? " amusement in her voice
" oh.. hi yes...yes we did. quite a busy one, thank you..." trailing off as the elder Gillans finally gathering some semblance of control set off for their room at least one elevator behind their children now giggling in the hallway outside their door.
Time passed rather quickly for Jessica and the others in the reception area as it was a high guest turn over period until eventually noticing the Gillan seniors on their way back out.
" Get them all settled in? " she called to the elders with a bright smile
" We did! Thank you! Wow! isn't that the place? "
" I know! I spent a few days there myself growing up. I could literally do that again anytime! Enjoy your shopping! " Jessica chuckling at the thought of the poor Mr Gillan returning for more.
" Uh huh " she said
"See you when we get back! " the door closing behind them
" Oh... or not actually " realizing her shift would likely end first.
Jessica thought about their daughter in Shaun's body for a moment, then glancing in the direction leading to the pool area Shaun himself. eventually looking forward again she sat tapping her pen lightly on the counter top until
" Meh? " she shrugged
" They're here for a week. " and settled back into her work.
