Sonic, normally, was very careful when he ran. He didn't act it, but he was very intelligent about his speed and where he ran. He had to be, otherwise he'd crash into things and die horribly and in great pain. So he was very observent when dashing along at the speed of sound. He used his observational powers to do his amazing stunts, bouncing and flying off of everything.
However, not even Sonic could account for everything. So it can be excused that he didn't notice the stone falling from the sky and landing right in his path. He tripped over it, bouncing into a shallow pool. Frantic, he scrambled out of the water, glaring back at it.
"Freakin' hate water... Any water that's not in a drinking glass can go to hell..." he muttered. He looked around for what tripped him, spotting the meteorite in a crater.
"Huh..." he said, walking over to it. Cautiously, he reached out to touch it. Surprisingly, despite the re-entry, it was cool to the touch. "Weird..." He picked it up, and looked at it. It was glowing slightly, with a rune in the shape of a double-sphere, the smaller sphere with a hole in it...
The stone flashed, disappearing. Sonic blinked, confused. "The fuck...?" he said, looking around. "That's odd... Where'd it go?"
What he didn't know was that the artifact he touched had merged with him. He was now an engine of destruction. All the artifact, now a permanent part of Sonic's body, was waiting for, was for him to choose how he would destroy the world.
"Well, whatever," Sonic said. "I'm hungry anyway." He smirked. "Maybe see how Amy's doin.' I'm in a good mood, might as well actually encourage her a little." He dashed off.
The artifact's limited intelligence pondered this. Food... and women? Food women? ...It could work with that. It had created devourers before. Sonic would devour the women of the world... But there were men as well. Men that could interfere with Sonic in his consumption of femalekind. ...Easy solution, turn the men into actual food items to fatten up the women. Give Sonic bigger meals. Yes, he could work with that...
Sonic dashed off to find a meal. As he passed through the town, he didn't notice as any man he came near was turned into a random foodstuff. Cakes, chilidogs, pizza slices, every male of any species he passed became a food item. The women he passed didn't notice the men's disappearance, having a sudden compulsion to eat the foodstuffs that appeared. Sonic didn't know it, but soon he would realize his new destiny as the devourer of the world...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
