Patty nodded, 'Yes, we are going swimming. We are meeting everybody at the groom's house. He has a pool in his backyard.'
Robby and Lilly were confused, 'Groom?'
Patty nodded as she pulled out two more clothing bags. Inside the first bag was a little tuxedo. Inside the next was a flower girls' dress. Patty explained, 'My friend Ruby is getting married tomorrow morning. They couldn't find any kids for the wedding. Ruby knows about the medallion and asked if I could 'produce' a flower girl and ring bearer for the ceremony. Ruby wants you both at the groom's dinner this evening so you can meet everybody. It's a pool party followed by an outside barbeque.'
Both Robby and Lilly's mouths were gasped wide open after hearing the plan. Lilly finally joked sarcastically, 'Ugh'This is just my luck! I finally have a chance to be a flower girl and Robby had to steal it from me!'
Robby held the white dress up to his body and saw the ruffles and bow in the back. The dress poofed out with a petticoat slightly above the knees. Robby laughed, 'OMG, I know it's every girls dream to be a flower girl, but there is no way am I wearing that dress tomorrow! There will be plenty of time in the morning to swap bodies so YOU can be the flower girl.'
Lilly smiled realizing she would finally have a chance to be a flower girl, 'You are right! It's only 6:45pm. We can use the medallion 12 hours from now and swap bodies in the morning!' Lilly took the dress from Robby and held it up to her body with envy. Everybody laughed at the confusing sight of a 6 year old boy holding a dress to his body.'
Patty interrupted, 'Before you get too excited'The wedding is at 11 in the morning. All the women are starting their hair and makeup appointments at 5:30 on the harbor cruise line salon. Unfortunately, 12 hours won't be up by then. '
Robby asked, 'Can't we just meet somewhere before the wedding to swap?'
Patty shook her head, 'The cruise line won't dock again once they leave. They coordinated a special stop to deliver the women directly to the wedding site on the beach. It would be impossible to meet up before the wedding.'
Lilly was disappointed and handed the dress back to Robby. With a groan, she said, 'Uggghh'This sucks'You have no idea how jealous I am of you!'
Robby held the dress again in his hands and realized he would be stuck posing as the flower girl for the wedding. For some reason, he had a feeling of satisfaction knowing how jealous Lilly was. It was their competitive upbringing that always brought upon a rivalry. For once, Robby would be able to something that Lilly couldn't. Eyeing the dress once again, Robby laughed to himself at the fact he would be wearing the dress tomorrow. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine he would be a flower girl. But knowing how much it was bothering Lilly made Robby somehow look forward to it.
Patty looked at her watch and said, 'Come on you two'We better get to the pool party! Everybody is excited to meet you!'
