Tina pushes the nurse costume back at Lisa and grabs the wig off her head and the boots from Babbingtree.
Babbingtree says "The costume is guaranteed to fit and your satisfaction is also guaranteed or your money back. If you'd like to try it on, there's a dressing room behind this rack," pointing off to his right. "However, if you try it on and don't take it, I will have to charge you a cleaning fee so the next customer has a perfect outfit."
Tina is clutching the costume with both arms to her, partly just to keep from dropping anything, but mostly, from deep down inside, there's an immense desire to take this and, wearing the mask so no one knows who she is, to be something so different from herself and know what it feels like to not be a shadow and stepping back from every situation.
The material of the costume and the hair of the wig where she holds them and they touch her hands and arms feel so good, like magic. Even though her initial reaction to the costume - that she'd never wear anything like that - is still firmly in her mind, she knows that she must take it to the party.
Finally, some logic in her head grasps onto the only thread not being affected by the costume, "Don't pay a cleaning fee. Just take it."
Babbingtree and Lisa have been waiting patiently for Tina's answer. Lisa is dumbfounded at this sudden change in her friend and has this amazed look on her face. Babbingtree can only smile softly as he knows he had picked the right costume for her all along.
Finally, Babbingtree says, "Let me put that in a box for you at the checkout and you both can be off to have fun. Just remember to take the costume off before dawn." and he winks at them as if it is joke. Or is it?
