Chapter #6The path to anger, trail of tears by: The prophet It had been 3 days since Danny had been given the terrible news concerning his now dead parents. Danny had not moved from the hospital bed, he did not have the strength nor the will to face the world. Danny did not sleep, he hardly ate, it all but seemed as if Danny was slowly waiting for death. The girl named lacy would check in on Danny everyday to make sure he was ok, but Danny hardly ever spoke to her, What was their to say? Danny didn’t see the orange haired warrior that had saved his life the day his parents died, Danny believed that was for the best. Danny would never admit it but he felt small bits of anger whenever he thought about that man and that girl, after all they didn’t save his parents. Everyday Danny would stare down at his white bed sheets as if he Where expecting them to get up and dance but alas they never did.
The door to the hospital room slowly opens as the orange haired man walks in. Danny slowly and lifelessly looks over at the man who had saved his life to see that he wasn’t wearing the same uniform he was wearing before. The man wore a light blue shirt as well as black jean shorts, with black flip flops. Danny said nothing as he stared at the man, but his anger started to slowly rise.
“Look who’s up.” The man says with a smile as he walks towards Danny’s bed.
“I thought I should check on ya.” The man says getting a small stool and sitting down.
“I don’t know, how would you feel if your parents had died?” Danny says sarcastically.
The room goes quite as both Danny and the man stop talking. The mans smile disappeared and he refused to make eye contact with Danny.
“Yea kid, I wanted to say that I was sorry for what happened to your......”
“[Peak Human Strength].” Danny says cutting off the man from his sentence.
“BOOM!”
The sound of a loud explosion echos throughout the whole hospital as the entire floor is filled with dust and small ruble. People fall to the floor in surprise as a shadowy figure stands inside the dust cloud.
The dust soon fades, and Danny is standing tall as he tightly grips the orange haired mans neck, the wall behind him completely destroyed. Tears are falling down both his cheeks as he stares at the orange haired mans face with eyes filled with rage.
“You, you should have never mentioned my parents!” Danny yells as his grip grows tighter around the mans neck.
“I, I’m s, sorry.” The man struggles to say as he coughs, struggling to breath.
“My parents are dead, why didn’t you save them!?” Danny yells once again.
“W, we tried.” The man says once again.
“Why!!!”
“Let him go!”
Danny turns around upon hearing a familiar feminine voice. Standing tall with the same dagger like eyes was the brunette girl that Danny had met before. The girl stared at Danny with anger in her eyes.
“I said let... him... go” The girl says threateningly.
“He’s the reason my parents are dead!” Danny yells looking back at the man who’s neck he was still clutching.
“No.” The girl says.
Danny looks at the girl with utter shock and surprise.
“No?” Danny asked not being able to believe what he had heard.
“No.... you are the reason your parents are dead.” The girl said walking towards Danny.
“What did you say?” Danny asked with anger in his voice.
“Your parents are dead... and you are the one who killed them.
Danny lets go of the mans neck who plummets to the ground holding his throat coughing. Danny slowly walks towards the girl ready to fight.
“We told you that you were in danger, and yet you ignored our warnings and went off without help or proper training.” The girl continues to speak.
Danny soon stands in front of the girl, both hands clenched into fist 🤜.
“Your the reason your parents are dead and you know it.” The girl says with utmost certainty.
Danny does nothing but looks into the eyes that scared him a few day ago. Danny doesn’t speak, he doesn’t lash out in anger he only stares into the girls eyes.
“Your.... your right?” Danny says putting his head down, not being able to look the girl in the eyes anymore.
All of the anger started to fade away as Danny’s body was overcome with pure sadness.
“I, I just miss them so much.” Danny cry’s still staring at the ground, tears falling on the floor.
The girl walks forward and puts her arms around Danny, as he cried. Everyone in the building did nothing but stare at the girl and Danny as they embraced, to shocked to do anything.
The orange haired man stands up, after having caught his breath.
“Well glad that’s over.”
