At the front desk, the receptionist was delighted when yet more guests arrived to stay at the hotel, a family group that looked particularly promising. “Well hi there, welcome to The Moriarty Arms, I guarantee you won’t find another hotel like ours in the country” the clerk said in a cheerful tone, as she greeted the new arrivals.
Don, in his 40’s, was a police officer with over 20 years service, but he also had a second job in order to support his family. He was a little shorter than average, standing 5'8", though he was very fit, and he kept his salt and pepper hair short. Very intelligent, he liked sex and had a thing for women with large breasts; he also had a fondness for cigars, imported beer and was a big baseball and auto-racing fan.
Christine, Don’s wife, was in her 40’s, had shoulder-length brunette hair and was 5’5” tall; she loved shopping and would often spend her husband’s money on clothes and shoes. She wore low cut t-shirts and tank tops to show off her large 40DD breasts, and preferred to wear jeans or shorts rather than skirts, and sneakers or flip flops in preference to shoes. She had a raspy voice, liked to tan and she visited the nail salon often. She wore glasses and like all women she loved to talk a lot, whether in person or on the phone. Her jewelry was kept to a minimum, preferring to only wear her wedding rings, a watch and any one of two necklaces she owned. She was a woman who was easily offended and she only liked people that she chose to like. She didn’t cook and spent a lot of time either on the Internet or watching soap operas.
Aggie, Christine’s mother, was in her 60’s, standing about 5’4” in height, had dark blond hair almost down to her shoulders. She was a retired schoolteacher, she wore glasses and she was widowed, although she was in a relationship with someone. She had three children, Debbie, Billy, with Christine being the youngest. Like most people of her generation she was kind and easy going, loved her family dearly.
Frank, was also in his 40’s, was 6’ tall and had a large frame, he was a life long friend of Don’s and was somewhat of a loner. He was smart but it didn’t show, he wasn’t much of a sports fan, but was an avid musician; he was also a former firefighter and had over 20 years of experience as a medic. Usually timid, Frank had a violent temper when pushed. He had several nicknames, but liked “Doc” the best.
Allyson, 19, 5’7”, was Don and Christine’s eldest daughter, is usually away at college, where she featured on the track team, she also liked other sports such as baseball and hockey. Like most teenagers, she liked hanging out with her friends. She currently wasn’t in a relationship but was dating on and off. She had large 36D breasts and long, brunette hair, shoulder length with her bangs parted. Ally was very smart but at times could be quite ditzy, preferred wearing low-cut tops, belly shirts, hip-hugger jeans and sneakers. Unlike her mother, Ally’s preferred her fingernails short because of her active lifestyle.
Brittany, 17, Allyson’s younger sister, was the last to enter the hotel. Standing a petite 4’11”. She had long, straight blonde hair, a squeaky-type voice, and tended to whine rather a lot. She liked wearing label clothing such as Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch. Like her mother she wore glasses, was on the high school swim team and was also a former cheerleader. Possessing 34DDD breasts, Brittany had mentioned to her parents that she wanted a breast reduction after graduation. She worked as a cashier at the local supermarket in the family’s hometown, and she had gained a little weight recently, which showed on her backside and hips. A big fan of chick flicks, she had lots of friends and just got her learner’s permit to drive. Has a desire to be either a beautician or a chef, and she spent a lot of time texting on her phone. She tended to get very girly in general and had a fear of insects.
The family…with Frank in tow, approached the front desk.
“Er hi, do you have any rooms available?” Don asked the smiling receptionist.
“Yes, certainly we do, how many does your party require?” she responded.
Don looked back at Christine, who in turn looked at the rest of her family, but it was Frank who spoke out before Christine could. “It depends how big they are” he muttered.
“Well we do have two adjoining family-sized rooms available on the floor,” the receptionist interjected, “they’re very spacious, two large beds per room, with a separate bath in each of the rooms…” she continued.
“Oh that sounds ideal” Christine then inquired.
“How much per night?” Don replied.
“Its normally $130 a night per room, but with the adjoining suites we have a special rate of $200 total, that’s a saving of $60” the receptionist explained in full.
Christine immediately raised her eyebrows. “Wow, that’s…great, very reasonable,” she said.
“We pride ourselves on bettering our rivals on price” the receptionist smiled, as she spun the book around to face Don. “Now, if you’ll be kind enough to sign the register and then I’ll show you up to your rooms” she chirped.
“With pleasure!” Don mumbled, as Aggie, Allyson and Brittany wandered around the lobby, checking out the décor.
A couple of minutes later, the receptionist got the keys to Rooms 501 and 503, then she stepped from behind the desk and led the way to the elevator. Frank and Don naturally took more notice of the attractive clerk than Aggie, Christine and the girls did. She had long, dark brown hair tied back into a ponytail, and she was wearing a white blouse, a black pencil skirt and a pair of black suede, 3-inch heeled pumps.
“Not bad!” Frank muttered under his breath, as he glanced at Don.
Don just smiled back and nodded in agreement, before turning to back to look at his daughter Brittany, who was replying to a text message she had just received. “Britt, hurry up, otherwise you’ll be taking the stairs” he chuckled.
“I’m coming!” Brittany mumbled in her squeaky voice, never taking her eyes off of her phone.
Eventually, all seven people, including the clerk, entered the elevator and headed up to the floor. Once up there, the clerk wasted no time in showing them around their rooms. “Okay, if you need anything then please don’t hesitate to ring the front desk and I’ll do what I can to help” the clerk said to them before exiting the room.
There followed a moment of silence, at the end of which was Brittany’s high-pitched voice. “Well, this sucks, I thought I was through having to share a bedroom”
“I love you too, Britt,” Allyson retorted, as she glanced at her younger sister.
Christine just rolled her eyes in disapproval. “Knock it off you two. We won’t be here that long, Britt, I’m sure Aggie won’t mind sharing a bed with you, if you want.
Aggie nodded her head and smiled. “Yes, I’d love that” she muttered.
“Ally, are you up for sharing a bed with me?” Christine asked, as she stood there with her hands on her hips.
“Sure, mom!” Allyson responded, as she brushed her hair from her face.
“Alright, that’s settled,” Christine, sighed before turning to look at Don and Frank. “And as always, the boys get to have their own bedroom” she sneered.
“As it should be!” Frank grinned, as he winked at Christine.
A raised eyebrow and a prolonged stare was the only reaction Frank was able to get out of Christine with his statement. “Keep it up and you’ll be sleeping in the hallway”.
“Yeah, I’d like to see you try and kick me out there” Frank responded with a grin.
“I wish there was some way to get some privacy. There are less people in my dorm at school. I’d be in the bedroom alone by now,” Allyson said, as she searched through the collection of Incubus songs on her mp3 player, trying to pick one out.
“Okay, Ally. Let’s give her some time alone. We can all sit in the other room for now,” Christine replied.
And as Allyson closed the door behind her, the rest of her family set about making themselves as comfortable as possible in their temporary abode.
