"Some weird... Thing?" Maria said. She wasn't quite sure what she was smelling; she'd smelled nothing like it before. It was an oily sort of smell, but not pungently so... Except for the fact that it also sort of smelled of charred meat and burnt grass, all rolled into one with just the slightest hint of raspberries. The aroma was quite confusing to the orange vixen.
She approached the scent, somewhere to the left of her in the woods, and took another whiff. It was a bit different, now: It had gained a hint of... Urine? "Ick..." she said under her breath. She was fairly certain she wouldn't be finding anything she'd want to see, let alone pick up... But, without anything better to do, she continued on in the direction of the scent, taking the scent with every few steps. She found that it... Changed, quite frequently. It was always "oily," though.
After a dozen or so more yards, the orange vixen still had no idea what the hell she was looking for. All she knew was that she was getting closer to it. After crawling through a convenient opening in a thicket of raspberry bushes ("Well, that explains part of the scent."), she laid eyes on what she had been looking for...
