Kairi groaned with discomfort as she slowly woke up. She slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to see that she was no longer in her library. She was laying on the floor of what looked like a small bedroom with walls and floors made out of stone. The room was ornately decorated with fur skin rugs and finely woven tapestries on the walls. Only a noble could afford furniture like this, so she must be in a castle.
"What happened?" The mage muttered to herself as she noticed that the book that was still tightly gripped in her hands and the strange ring was still on her finger.
Knowing that it was responsible for this, Kairi dropped the book like it was on fire. She then tried to pull the ring off her finger, but discovered that it could not be removed no matter how hard she pulled!
"Well... the book and the ring are obviously enchanted." The mage remarked. She always found that talking to herself helped to focus her thoughts, "That book got me into this mess, so it's probably the only way to get me out of it."
Moving carefully, Kairi approached the book and slowly opened it, afraid of any other tricks the book could have in it. Thankfully nothing happened. Kairi was surprised to see that some of the pages in the book had changed. Before, she could barely understand must of the words, but now it was like someone had translated some of the pages for her. The first page in particular caught her attention so she began to read it.

A Brief History of Lipomancy
Lipomancy is a school of magic centered on various ways to control and manipulate the body weight of any living thing. Lipomancy has been around for thousands of years, but no one remembers the exact origins of this form of magic. There are theories that it was invented by an obese king that was desperate to lose weight so he could get laid. His experiments ended badly when he accidentally made himself so fat that he became immobile. No one knows if that story is true though.
Lipomancy was once an extremely popular form of magic. Lipomancers were often paid a small fortune by overweight nobles that wanted a slim physique, but were too lazy to exercise. However Lipomancy fell out of favor in the year 492 after a Lipomancer went crazy and turned every person in a small city into a fatass and then vanished. Common knowledge of Lipomancy slowly faded after that. Today, most scholars consider Lipomancy to be nothing more than a fairytale.

"What a strange form of magic." Kairi remarks as she finishes reading the first page and turns to the second.

If you're reading this book, then you must be interested in learning the lost magic of Lipomancy. Learning Lipomancy can grant you great power, but it also comes with great risks. Many novice lipomancers have made themselves permanently obese after accidentally messing up a spell. Some Lipomancer spells cannot be reversed by anyone, even by the caster or another Lipomancer. In such cases, the only way to undo the effects is with diet and exercise.
You should start out with something simple. The most basic Lipomancy spell is known as the Touch Fat spell. It causes the part of the body that the lipomancer touches to gain fat equal to the amount of energy they put into the spell.

Kairi reads the instructions for the first spell and then forces herself to stop reading. The book is very interesting, but she should focus on finding a way out of this castle. She picks up the book and opens the door leading out of the room.
On the other side of the door, she comes face to face with a small male goblin! Kairi stares at the small monster in surprise and judging by the look on the creature's face, it is just as surprised to see her! Kairi is so surprised that she reacts instinctively and bonks the goblin on the head with the Lipomancy spell book.
